The security thread in all the banknotes, with the exception of the $5.00 banknote, was updated to a 3mm StarChrome® Machine Readable Thread which makes it easier for persons to detect counterfeit notes and much more difficult for counterfeiters. The thread will not affect cash machines such as ATMs, counting and vending machines.
