Pandemic and Health Care

On this episode of ECCB Digital Dialogues, the featured topic was “Pandemic and Health Care”. The Dialogue explored pre-existing and emerging health priorities in the Caribbean region. While the urgency of the COVID-19 pandemic may have overshadowed other critical health issues in the region, it has also put a spotlight on others. The longstanding challenge of the high incidence of non-communicable diseases (NDCs) in the region has increased the vulnerability of our populations to other health risks. Other health issues will remain a challenge long after the COVID-19 pandemic is over.

ECCB Governor,  Timothy N. J. Antoine, moderated a live and interactive session on these critical health care issues confronting the region. Governor Antoine was joined by a distinguished panel of experts: Founder of EarthMedic and EarthNurse Foundation and former Executive Director of the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), Dr James Hospedales; Head of the Human and Social Division at the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission, Dr Carlene Radix; and Professor at St George’s University and former Minister of Health in Saint Lucia, Dr Damian Greaves.

Be part of future conversations as we take collective action to transform our region, now! We encourage you to vote during the polling segment of the Dialogue as your input is very important to us.
