Digital Dialogues

ECCB Digital Dialogues

The ECCB DIGITAL DIALOGUES series returns on Thursday, 28 September 2021 with a fresh lineup of Dialogues covering critical policy issues relating to the recovery, resilience and transformation of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU).

One of the biggest disruptions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic has been to education.  Across the globe, containment measures intended to protect lives meant an abrupt switch to online modes for delivering education.  This switch exposed some difficult consequences of the digital divide for education.  Students, teachers and parents have struggled to adapt to the new normal in education, with varying degrees of success.

As COVID-19 continues to impact our societies, there is a need for ongoing support to the education system to enhance its flexibility in the face of an uncertain and ever-changing environment.  At the same time, fundamental reforms must be implemented to transform the system to effectively develop the region’s most precious resource – its people – for the 21st Century digital economy.

Join Governor of the ECCB, Timothy N.J. Antoine as he moderates a live and interactive Dialogue on the challenges for education in the midst of a pandemic, and opportunities for developing an inclusive and modern education system for the region. Governor Antoine will be joined by a distinguished panel comprising: Ms Beverly LeBlanc, a teacher from the Commonwealth of Dominica with a passion for special education; Ms Ornella Child, a teacher and parent from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; and Mr William Hodge, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Saint Christopher (St Kitts).

We encourage you to vote during the polling segment of the Dialogue as your input is important to us.

Be part of the conversation as we take collective action to transform our region, now!
