On 26 January 2009, the ECCB implemented Straight Through Processing (STP) allowing financial instructions received via SWIFT to be automatically uploaded and processed in its accounting system (without manual intervention). To facilitate this process, the Bank has formulated a set of SWIFT Message standards which are to be used by its clients when communicating with the ECCB.
