This year, the ECCB has made significant strides of which we can be justifiably proud. These include, return to profitability and the launch of our strategic plan. This paper examines Grenada’s experience with its IMF-supported Home-Grown Structural Adjustment Programme over the period 2014-2016. The paper evinces useful insights for other small developing economies in terms of good practices in fiscal consolidation; fiscal governance; structural reforms; and engagement of a wide cross-section of stakeholders in policymaking.

ECCB working paper: what is driving tourism flow in the ECCU

This study uses a gravity model framework to model tourism demand in the Eastern Caribbean. We analyse data from the territories of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union over the period 2000 – 2016. The findings show that traditional gravity model variables are significant in explaining tourism demand in the ECCU.

It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the handing over ceremony to mark the change in chairmanship of the Monetary Council of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB). Today, the chairmanship of the Council passes from the Honourable Gaston A. Browne, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance for Antigua and Barbuda to the Hon. Roosevelt Skerritt, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance for the Commonwealth of Dominica.
