Upgraded EC$20 To Start Circulating In Montserrat
Basseterre, 04 August 2004 The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank advises that upgraded EC twenty-dollar notes will be put into circulation in Montserrat on 05 August 2004. This is the first in the series of upgraded notes to be circulated in Montserrat. The security features of the upgraded twenty-dollar note include a security thread, which glows under UV light. The letters ECCB, as well as the value of the note, can be seen in yellow, against a blue background on the front of the note. When viewed from the back, the thread appears yellow-green in colour. A second security thread has also been added. The notes also feature a highly reflective silver filigree foil on which the value of the note is evident.
