The ECCB Announces Dreams to Reality Story Contest Winners

Basseterre, St Kitts, 2 December 2010 A citizen of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU), who has realised his dream of owning a nightclub and a farm through saving regularly and investing wisely is the winner of the Financial Information Month ECCU Dreams to Reality Story Contest. Mr Selwyn Foster of Grenada began his quest to realise his dream at the age of 18 and through wise money management, after 13 years he was able to realise his dreams of owning a night club and a pig farm. The second place winner in the ECCU Financial Information Month Dreams to Reality Contest is Mr Clinton Dore of Nevis. His dream to own his own home rose from the experience of having the house in which he was living taken away with his belongings. Mrs Joan Stapleton-Pemberton of Nevis, who by practising wise spending and budgeting to earn a solid education while raising two children on her own, captured the third place. The Dreams to Reality contest gave citizens of the ECCU the opportunity to share their stories of how wise money management helped them to turn their dreams into reality. Winners will receive prizes amounting to $4,500.
