Students Address Topical Issues Through Regional Videoconference

Basseterre, St Kitts, 24 February 2011 Students from secondary schools throughout the eight member territory of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union participated in a regional videoconference on Wednesday, 23 February. The main objective was to engage the students on issues relating to the OECS Financial Markets and Economy. The discussion forum provided students with the avenue to gather information which was relevant and applicable to the topics for the 2011 OECS Essay Competition. These topics are as follows: 1. Are we doing enough to promote sustainable use of our local products and natural resources and in so doing promote self-sufficiency in the OECS? 2. The role of entrepreneurship and private sector development in the growth of the region
