Monetary Council to Chart Way Forward for ECCB

Members of the ECCB Monetary Council will meet in Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis on 26 27 February 2004 for the 50th Meeting of the Council. This fiftieth meeting will be used to chart the way forward for the ECCB in light of the current international environment, and the challenges facing the region. Council members from the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) are scheduled to attend the meeting, which will receive the Governor's report on prevailing monetary and credit conditions. Council will also provide the Bank with strategic directives and guidelines with respect to monetary and credit policy. Hon Margaret Annie Dyer-Howe, Minister of Agriculture, Lands, Housing and the Environment and Council member for Montserrat, will chair the meeting. Meetings of the Regional Debt Coordinating Committee (RDCC), Attorneys General and Financial Secretaries of the ECCU will be held on Wednesday, 25 February 2004 prior to the meeting of the Monetary Council.
