
FIM Festival Partners in Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis Host Virtual Business Symposium
The Financial Information Month (FIM) partners of Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis will host the 2022 FIM Festival Virtual Business Symposium on 27 October.
The Business Symposium, which is one of the featured events on the FIM Festival calendar this year, will focus on two of the subthemes for FIM Festival 2022 in the Federation: Cryptocurrency and Investments in Securities. The discussions will cover the following topics:
- What are cryptocurrencies and how they work;
- The types of cryptocurrencies available;
- The risks and benefits of cryptocurrencies.
- Why a Savings Account is not enough;
- Why investing matters;
- Risk and returns;
- Investment options available in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU); and
- The Investment process in the ECCU.
Two presenters, with several years of experience in securities investments and cryptocurrencies, will share their expertise and perspectives on the topic. Managing Director, Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE), Trevor E Blake will present on the topic: Grow Your Wealth! Protect Your Financial Health. Talking About Investments in Securities and Blockchain Researcher and Data Scientist, Dr Daniel Joseph will address the topic: How Much Do You Know? Cryptocurrencies –the Risks and Benefits.
Digital Lead at Digicel, Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis, Jacynthia Teshiera, will moderate the session, which will run from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
