Basseterre, February 21, 2002 The external performance of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union improved in 2000 with an overall surplus of $58.1 million, the equivalent of 0.8 percent of Gross Domestic Product, compared with $44.6 million in the previous year. This information is contained in the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank 2001 Balance of Payments (BOP) publication.
