ECCB To Host Financial Sector Supervision Training Seminar
Basseterre, St Kitts, October 4, 2002 Regulators of financial institutions from the eight Eastern Caribbean Currency Union Countries are scheduled to attend a five-day training seminar, being sponsored by the Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Centre (CARTAC), at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, from October 7 to 11, 2002. During the five days, the participants, representing the insurance, credit union and offshore sectors, will be instructed in several areas including : On-site Bank Inspection Procedures; Off-Site Supervision of Banks and Credit Unions; Licensing procedures; The Supervision of Insurance Companies and Supervisory Procedures for Offshore Banks, International Business Companies, Trusts and collective Investments. Thirty nine participants are expected to attend the seminar, which is being coordinated by Mr Kevin Higgins from the Central Bank of the Bahamas.
