ECCB Governor Highlights Factors Affecting Development
Basseterre, St Kitts, 20 November 2004 Recent events have continued to reveal the extreme vulnerability of the region to external factors and natural disasters says ECCB Governor, Sir K Dwight Venner, while addressing participants at the opening of the 8th Annual ECCB Development Conference. He stated that these events have placed the onus on the region to find appropriate responses to maintain the viability of the member countries. In the pursuit of development, member governments need to consider the global environment and the expectation of citizens. The governments must also consider issues pertaining to political governance, administrative competence and citizens
