ECCB Encourages Entrepreneurs to Take Advantage of Opportunities COVID-19 Pandemic Presents
The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is encouraging budding entrepreneurs to see past the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and make use of the opportunities it presents.
Through its weekly public education programme ECCB Connects, the Bank highlights the story of Saint Lucian Penelope Prospere who has made the transition from unemployed to entrepreneur during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prospere, who worked as a flight attendant, was laid off during the pandemic and subsequently turned her hobby of making jewelry into the business brand bel_kou, which has now become her mainstay.
She said entrepreneurs and small businesses have an important role to play in rebuilding the economies of the region and advises young entrepreneurs to have confidence in themselves and to value their talents.
