ECCB Digital Dialogues Series to Look at Pandemic and Education

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) will engage stakeholders on the topic ‘Pandemic and Education’ when discussions resume on 28 September with a new series of its Digital Dialogues.

The ECCB recognises that one of the biggest disruptions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic has been to education, and that the abrupt switch to online modes of delivering education has exposed some difficult consequences of the digital divide. Furthermore, it recognises a 2021 United Nations report on the Sustainable Development Goals which laments the tragic impact of COVID-19 on Goal 4 - “Ensure Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education and Promote Lifelong opportunities for All”.

Governor of the ECCB Timothy N. J. Antoine will moderate the live and interactive Digital Dialogues on the challenges for education in the midst of a pandemic, and opportunities for developing an inclusive and modern education system for the region.

Governor Antoine will be joined by a panel of experts comprising: teacher from the Commonwealth of Dominica, Beverly Le Blanc; teacher and parent from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ornella Child, and Permanent Secretary in the Government of Saint Christopher (St Kitts), William Hodge.

Join the discussion on Tuesday, 28 September at 10:00 a.m. on the ECCB Connects Facebook page and YouTube channel. Be part of the live poll and share your questions and comments.
