ECCB Digital Dialogues Focuses on Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Food Security in ECCU

Revitalising and making agriculture sustainable will be the focus of ECCB Digital Dialogues, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank’s (ECCB) online discussion forum, on 10 September.

The panel will comprise: the Honourable Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Rural Transformation, Industry and Labour in the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines - Saboto Caesar; Farmer and Retired Agricultural Officer from Grenada - Theresa Marryshow, and Entrepreneur from Saint Kitts and Nevis - Daniel Arthurton. They will explore the important role of food security in building resilience and the socio-economic transformation in the region. The Governor of the ECCB, Timothy N. J. Antoine will moderate the discussion.

In light of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on access to safe and nutritious food, the panel will also discuss the possibilities that digital technologies offer for enhancing agricultural production and the efficiency of markets.
