
ECCB Digital Dialogues Explores Critical Health Care Issues Facing the Region
The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) will commence the next round of its public engagement series, ECCB Digital Dialogues on 22 April, with a discussion on Pandemic and Health Care.
The discussion during this interactive virtual session, will focus on pre-existing and emerging health priorities in the Caribbean; and the extent to which the region’s health care systems are equipped to deal with current and looming health challenges in light of the environmental impact of climate change.
The Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), Timothy N. J. Antoine, will moderate the session. The panel of experts will comprise:
Founder of EarthMedic and EarthNurse Foundation and Former Executive Director of the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) - Dr James Hospedales;
Head of the Human and Social Division at the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission - Dr Carlene Radix; and
Professor at St George’s University and former Minister of Health in Saint Lucia -
Dr Damian Greaves.
They will also discuss some of the long-standing health challenges, such as the high incidence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which have been overshadowed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The ECCB Digital Dialogues will be broadcast live on the ECCB’s Facebook page and YouTube channel and on radio stations across the ECCU from 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to participate in this important conversation and to share their views on specific issues during the real-time survey segment.
