
Caribbean Public Finance Management Officials Meet in St Kitts
Basseterre 22 November 2004 More than seventy public finance management officials from nineteen CARICOM countries are in St Kitts to attend the first annual conference of the Caribbean Public Finance Association (CaPFA), which takes place at the Marriott Hotel from 23-25 November 2005. Formed in 2003, the Caribbean Public Finance Association provides a forum for public finance officials to exchange ideas and experiences and to discuss current developments and best practices in the profession. Its objectives include: to increase public finance professionalism in the region; to foster networking between members and cooperation between governments; to facilitate dissemination of information, exchange and training throughout the region; and to increase public awareness of the importance of sound and transparent public finance management to the delivery of government programmes and services to the community.
