Basseterre, St Kitts, 13 November 2009 Anthony Jones, a poultry farmer of Newcastle Nevis was voted as the 2009 Everyday Financial Hero, having amassed 50% of the popular vote from among nine finalists. The award which was launched during October, Financial Information Month, 2009 was a collaborative effort between 19 financial institutions from the federation, along with SKNVibes, and LIME. The objective was to acknowledge persons, who through prudent savings, investments, sacrifice and hard work, have been able to attain their financial goals of advanced education, home ownership or entrepreneurship. Jones, who after having lost a leg in a vehicular accident in 2005, went on to realise his dream of expanding his poultry farming business, can serve as an inspiration to all. The message is clear;
