45th Monetary Council Meeting for Grenada

Basseterre, July 22, 2002 Finance ministers from the eight-member Eastern Caribbean Currency Union will meet in Grenada on July 26 and 27, 2002, for the 45th meeting of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank's Monetary Council. The ministers will receive the Governor's report on monetary and credit developments as mandated by the agreement establishing the Bank. The meeting will be preceded on Thursday July 25, by a ceremony in which chairmanship of the Monetary Council will pass from Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Dominica Hon. Pierre Charles to Hon. Anthony Boatswain, Finance Minister for Grenada. Chairmanship is rotated on an annual basis. The Monetary Council, comprised of finance Ministers from eight OECS countries, is the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank's highest decision-making authority.
